A romantic mystery from 1907, newly rediscovered and available again!
Margaret Levinge has come to the country house of Springmeads, a place of refuge after the apparent death of her wastrel husband, Arthur, in a fire in Paris. Yet Springmeads is a place of secrets, not least to be found in the hidden passages that concealed within its walls. When Springmeads is visited by Richard Villiers, Margeret’s childhood sweetheart, a set of events will be put in motion which will endanger Margaret’s reputation and future happiness, and threaten all those who reside within Springmeads’ walls. Can Richard and Margaret uncover the mysteries associated with the secret entrance, and protect themselves from a mysterious enemy who is prepared to do them harm?
John Finnemore was a successful writer of adventure stories in the early twentieth century. Although many of his works were based around school stories and scouting adventures, he also wrote a number of mysteries, including The Secret Entrance, which was first published in 1907. This edition represents the first time this novel has been returned to print in over a century.
